Johnsonville Grillers are frozen pork patties. They come in a 6 pack and are just over $5.50 a box from Walmart. A pretty good deal in my opinion. I wasn't sure what to expect from these when I was selected, but I was very excited to find out! We decided to do a little family barbeque with my husband, son, mother in law and I.
The first thing we noticed about these Johsonville Grillers is that they grill up a lot quicker than your traditional beef patty does! My corn wasn't even done being chucked (only 4 ears) and they were telling me to hurry up and get some plates!
They looked and smelled great! The best part is they already had bacon and cheddar in them, so I didn't have to worry about slicing up cheese or cooking bacon. Which is also a money saver with the bacon! I had lettuce and tomatoes ready to go, and condiments. I forgot to get out the pickles and cut up my red onion - but honestly the burgers were so good it didn't matter in the end!
The moment of truth. My turn to bite into my burger.
It looked good, smelled great, and it was a decent sized burger!
The color is a bit different than your normal burger because it is pork. The texture is pretty good and it is a hearty patty. It was very juicy and it had a mild bacon and cheddar taste, but enough to know it was there. I was happy that it was not a weird synthetic taste like some things get. I would buy these burgers again, and probably will for my summer cook outs. They are only available at one store in my area so far but since they are frozen they are easy to buy in bulk and stock up on! Check out this handy product locater! Find Johnsonville Grillers HERE!
